Heather M. Higgins is a native of Hickory, North Carolina. Heather is a graduate of St. Stephens High School where she was a member of the Indians’ swim team and symphonic band. After High School Heather attended Campbell University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Pre-Law with minors in History and Honors Interdisciplinary Studies. While at Campbell, Heather was active in the Student Government Association, as well as Captain of the Mock Trial team. During her college career, Heather studied abroad in London, England, interning in the British House of Commons. Heather attended Law School at Wake Forest University, where she participated in both the Child Advocacy Clinic and Wake Law Veteran’s Legal Clinic. While in law school Heather completed several internships, which included work in State Judge’s and Prosecutorial offices. While in Law School, Heather also studied abroad in Vienna, Austria and interned with the General Counsel of Magna Steyr Automotive. Heather graduated from Wake Forest in 2016, and passed the NC Bar Exam in July of 2016.
Heather and her husband, Alex, live in Hickory with their two children Reagan and Deacon and their rescue dachshund, Bobo. In her spare time, Heather enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking the NC Mountains, fishing and hanging out on Lake Hickory, and waiting all summer for Carolina Panthers football to return. Heather has a passion for working with people and is excited to pursue her legal career in the community she grew up in. She is excited to make a positive impact on the lives of our local residents.
